Block Producer Revenue

Definition

Block producer revenue represents the income earned by entities responsible for validating transactions and adding new blocks to a blockchain. This revenue typically comprises transaction fees paid by users and block rewards, which are newly minted tokens. For proof-of-work chains, this refers to miner revenue, while for proof-of-stake, it applies to validators. This income stream incentivizes network participants to maintain the security and operational integrity of the blockchain.
