Commodity Interest Product

Definition

A commodity interest product is a financial instrument whose value is derived from an underlying commodity. These products grant participants exposure to price movements of physical goods such as agricultural products, metals, or energy resources, without requiring physical delivery. Examples include futures contracts, options on futures, and certain swaps, which are traded on regulated exchanges or over-the-counter markets. Their pricing reflects market expectations regarding the future supply and demand dynamics of the underlying asset.
