DeFi Scaling

Definition

DeFi scaling refers to methods and technologies used to increase the transaction capacity and speed of decentralized finance protocols. These solutions address the limitations of underlying blockchains such as high gas fees and slow processing times, which hinder broader DeFi adoption. Techniques include Layer 2 protocols, sidechains, sharding, and optimistic or zero-knowledge rollups. The goal is to support a greater volume of users and operations without compromising decentralization or security.
