Digital Asset Finality

Definition

Digital asset finality refers to the irreversible and unalterable conclusion of a transaction on a blockchain or distributed ledger. Once a transaction achieves finality, it cannot be reversed, canceled, or double-spent, ensuring the integrity of the ledger. Different blockchain protocols employ various mechanisms to achieve this state, such as proof-of-work confirmations or proof-of-stake consensus thresholds. This property is fundamental to the trustworthiness and reliability of digital asset transfers and ownership records.
