Food Security

Definition

Food security describes the condition where all people, at all times, have physical, social, and economic access to sufficient, safe, and nutritious food that meets their dietary needs and food preferences for an active and healthy life. It involves consistent availability of food supplies, adequate access to resources for food acquisition, and effective utilization of food. This state is foundational for public health and societal stability. Disruptions to any of these pillars can lead to widespread scarcity and hardship.
