Governance Models

Definition

Governance models describe the systems and rules dictating how a decentralized network or organization makes decisions. These frameworks specify mechanisms for proposing, voting on, and implementing changes to a blockchain protocol, a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO), or a digital asset project. Common approaches include token-weighted voting, delegated proof of stake, or off-chain consensus mechanisms. Effective governance ensures the long-term viability and adaptability of a system.
