IBC Protocol

Definition

The IBC Protocol is a standard for interoperability between different independent blockchains. Inter-Blockchain Communication Protocol, or IBC, is a secure, authenticated, and ordered communication layer that enables independent blockchains to exchange data and assets directly with each other. It functions by providing a set of specifications for modules that allow heterogeneous chains to connect and transfer arbitrary data packets, fostering a truly interconnected multi-chain ecosystem. IBC facilitates cross-chain applications and expands the utility of individual blockchain networks.
