Institutional Ether

Definition

Institutional Ether refers to holdings of the Ethereum network’s native cryptocurrency, Ether (ETH), by large financial organizations, corporations, or investment funds. These entities acquire and manage ETH for various purposes, including investment, staking, or participation in decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols. Such holdings often represent significant capital allocations and are subject to stringent internal governance and compliance procedures. Their presence indicates growing mainstream acceptance.
