Lattice-Based Algorithms

Definition

Lattice-based algorithms are a class of cryptographic methods whose security relies on the computational difficulty of certain problems in mathematical lattices. These algorithms are considered strong candidates for post-quantum cryptography because they are believed to resist attacks from quantum computers, unlike many current public-key systems. They offer robust security properties and often produce relatively compact keys and signatures. This makes them a promising foundation for future secure digital communications.
