Layer-2 Adoption

Definition

Layer-2 Adoption refers to the increasing utilization of scaling solutions built on top of existing blockchain networks, known as Layer 1 protocols. These solutions, such as rollups or sidechains, process transactions off the main chain to reduce congestion and lower fees. Increased Layer-2 adoption indicates a growing demand for more efficient and cost-effective blockchain interactions. It addresses the scalability limitations of base layers.
