Layer Two Gaming

Definition

Layer Two gaming refers to blockchain games operating on scaling solutions built atop a main blockchain network. These solutions, known as Layer Two protocols, aim to enhance transaction speed, reduce costs, and improve throughput for gaming applications that would otherwise overwhelm Layer One chains. By processing many transactions off-chain and only settling final states on the main network, Layer Two gaming offers a more responsive and economically viable player experience. This approach addresses the scalability limitations inherent in many foundational blockchains.
