Liquidity Bootstrap

Definition

Liquidity bootstrap refers to the initial process of providing sufficient trading assets to a new decentralized exchange or lending protocol. This initial injection of capital is essential to ensure that users can trade or borrow assets efficiently without experiencing significant price slippage or delays. Various mechanisms, such as liquidity mining programs or initial DEX offerings, are employed to incentivize early participants to supply these necessary assets. A successful bootstrap creates a functional market for the digital asset.
