MiCA

Definition

MiCA stands for Markets in Crypto-Assets, a regulatory framework established by the European Union. Its primary objective is to create a harmonized set of rules for crypto-asset service providers and for the issuance and trading of crypto-assets across member states. MiCA aims to provide legal certainty, protect consumers and investors, and ensure financial stability within the evolving digital asset landscape. It defines various categories of crypto-assets and imposes corresponding obligations on issuers and service providers.
