Net Outflows

Definition

Net outflows represent the total value of assets leaving a particular financial entity, fund, or market segment, exceeding the value of assets entering it over a specific period. In the digital asset space, this indicates that more cryptocurrency or fiat currency is being withdrawn from an exchange, protocol, or investment product than is being deposited. Significant net outflows often signal declining investor confidence, profit-taking, or a shift in market sentiment. This metric is a key indicator of capital movement.
