On-Chain Commerce

Definition

On-chain commerce refers to economic transactions and business activities that are conducted directly and entirely on a blockchain network. This involves using smart contracts to automate agreements and digital assets for payments, with all transactional data recorded immutably on the distributed ledger. It differs from off-chain commerce, which uses traditional payment rails, even if initiated by a digital asset. This approach aims for greater transparency and disintermediation.
