On-Chain Fund Access

Definition

On-chain fund access means an investment fund’s assets or shares are managed directly on a blockchain. This refers to the ability for investors to directly interact with and gain exposure to an investment fund whose assets or ownership interests are recorded and managed on a blockchain. It enables programmatic subscription, redemption, and transfer of fund units through smart contracts, offering enhanced transparency and operational efficiency. This approach can also facilitate fractional ownership and broader investor participation in traditionally illiquid asset classes.
