On-Chain Treasuries

Definition

On-chain treasuries are reserves of digital assets managed and held directly on a blockchain by decentralized organizations. These treasuries typically belong to Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) or blockchain protocols, holding funds in cryptocurrencies or stablecoins to finance development, operations, and community initiatives. Their management is governed by smart contracts and transparent voting mechanisms, allowing all network participants to audit fund movements. This provides a high degree of transparency and programmatic control over collective assets.
