Optimism Network Threat

Definition

An Optimism network threat refers to any vulnerability or attack vector that jeopardizes the security or functionality of the Optimism blockchain. Optimism is a Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum, utilizing optimistic rollups to process transactions off-chain and then post compressed data to the mainnet. Threats could include flaws in the rollup smart contracts, issues with the fraud proof mechanism, or centralized points of failure in its sequencer operations. Such threats can potentially lead to asset loss, network downtime, or compromised transaction integrity.
