Player-Owned Economy

Definition

A Player-Owned Economy is an economic system within a video game where players genuinely own the digital assets they acquire or create. These assets, often represented as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on a blockchain, can be freely traded, sold, or used outside the game environment. This model contrasts with traditional game economies where assets are controlled by the game developer. It grants players verifiable ownership and economic agency over their in-game possessions.
