PoS Security

Definition

PoS Security refers to the mechanisms and guarantees that protect a Proof-of-Stake blockchain network from attacks and maintain its integrity. It relies on validators staking their cryptocurrency as collateral, which can be slashed for malicious behavior, rather than on computational power. The security of the chain depends on the economic incentives and penalties that align validator behavior with the network’s interests. This system aims to ensure that transactions are finalized and the ledger remains uncorrupted.
