Proof-of-Stake Security

Definition

Proof-of-Stake security refers to the integrity and resilience of blockchain networks that utilize the Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism. In PoS, validators are chosen to create new blocks based on the number of coins they hold and are willing to “stake” as collateral. The security of the system relies on economic incentives, where validators risk losing their staked assets if they act maliciously. This mechanism aims to deter attacks by making dishonest behavior financially disadvantageous.
