Quorum Applications

Definition

Quorum applications are systems or processes that require a minimum number of participants to agree for an action to proceed. In decentralized governance and blockchain consensus, this refers to the use of a quorum threshold, where a predefined percentage or number of votes or participants must be reached for a proposal to be validly passed or a block to be confirmed. This mechanism ensures broad participation and prevents a small minority from unilaterally dictating outcomes. Quorum requirements are fundamental for maintaining the decentralized nature and security of many protocols.
