Realized Value Framework

Definition

The Realized Value Framework is an analytical approach that values digital assets based on the price at which they last changed hands on the blockchain. This on-chain valuation methodology calculates a cryptocurrency’s market capitalization by summing the value of each unit at the time it was last transacted, rather than its current market price. It offers a more stable and historically informed measure of an asset’s underlying cost basis for the aggregate market. This framework helps distinguish between speculative price movements and the actual capital committed by investors, providing insights into market cycles and investor behavior.
