Rollup Adoption

Definition

Rollup adoption refers to the increasing use and integration of rollup technologies as a scaling solution for blockchains, particularly Ethereum. Rollups process transactions off-chain and then post a compressed summary or cryptographic proof back to the main chain. This significantly increases transaction throughput and reduces fees, alleviating congestion on the base layer. The widespread implementation of rollups is a key step towards achieving mass scalability for decentralized applications.
