Second Level Finality

Definition

Second Level Finality is the assurance that transactions processed on a layer-2 scaling solution are irreversibly settled and secured by the underlying base layer blockchain. This means that while transactions occur quickly off-chain, their ultimate and immutable confirmation relies on the security of the main chain. Second level finality provides a strong guarantee of transaction integrity, combining speed with the robustness of the primary network. It is a critical property for trust in layer-2 solutions.
