Sidechain Security

Definition

Sidechain security concerns the measures taken to protect secondary blockchains from attacks and ensure asset integrity. This security depends on various factors, including the sidechain’s consensus mechanism, the strength of its validator set, and the cryptographic protocols used for transferring assets to and from the main chain. Robust sidechain security prevents malicious actors from corrupting data or stealing funds locked in the two-way peg mechanism. It is critical for maintaining trust in layer-2 scaling solutions.
