Slashable Safety

Definition

Slashable safety refers to a property in Proof-of-Stake blockchain protocols where validators who act maliciously or deviate from protocol rules face a penalty of losing a portion of their staked assets. This mechanism is designed to deter dishonest behavior, such as double-signing transactions or proposing invalid blocks. The threat of slashing provides a strong economic incentive for validators to maintain network integrity. It is a core component of the security model in many PoS systems.
