Smart Contract Funds

Definition

Smart contract funds are pools of digital assets held and managed directly by a self-executing, tamper-proof smart contract on a blockchain, rather than by a human custodian. These contracts contain predefined rules that govern how the funds can be accessed, moved, or allocated, without the need for intermediaries. They enable automated, trustless financial operations such as lending, decentralized exchanges, or automated investment strategies. The security and integrity of these funds rely entirely on the correctness of the smart contract code.
