In blockchain contexts, this means ensuring that the ledger’s record of all transactions and smart contract states is free from unauthorized modifications or corruption. It is maintained through cryptographic hashing, consensus mechanisms, and replication across distributed nodes, preventing double-spending or fraudulent state transitions. Preserving state integrity is fundamental for the trustworthiness and reliability of any decentralized application.
