Strategic Agents

Definition

Strategic agents are participants in a system who make decisions based on anticipating the actions of others to achieve their goals. These are individual or collective actors within a decentralized system, such as a blockchain network or a decentralized autonomous organization, who engage in decision-making with an awareness of how their actions influence and are influenced by other participants. Their behavior is often modeled using game theory, where they attempt to optimize their outcomes by considering the reactions and incentives of other agents. Understanding strategic agents is vital for designing robust and secure crypto protocols.
