Streaming Protocols

Definition

Streaming protocols are sets of rules and standards that govern the transmission of data, such as audio or video, over a network in a continuous flow. These protocols allow content to be played as it is received, rather than requiring the entire file to be downloaded first. In the context of digital assets and decentralized networks, streaming protocols can be adapted to facilitate the real-time transfer of value or data, enabling new forms of decentralized applications that require continuous data feeds or micro-transactions. They provide a mechanism for ongoing data delivery.
