Superfinality

Definition

Superfinality denotes a state in a blockchain protocol where a transaction’s confirmation is irreversible with extremely high probabilistic certainty. This concept extends beyond standard transaction finality by adding further layers of economic or cryptographic guarantees against reversal. It implies that once a transaction reaches superfinality, its validity is virtually immutable, making any attempt to alter it prohibitively expensive or computationally impossible. Such a strong assurance is critical for high-value transactions and cross-chain operations.
