Token Ownership

Definition

Token ownership refers to the verifiable possession of digital assets, such as cryptocurrencies or non-fungible tokens (NFTs), recorded on a blockchain ledger. This ownership grants the holder specific rights, which can include transferability, participation in governance, or access to particular functionalities within a decentralized ecosystem. Unlike traditional assets, token ownership is immutable and transparently auditable on the blockchain. It confers control over the digital asset.
