Transparent SNARKs

Definition

Transparent SNARKs are a class of Succinct Non-interactive ARguments of Knowledge that do not require a trusted setup phase. Unlike other SNARKs, their security relies solely on public randomness, eliminating the need for a secret parameter generation ceremony. This characteristic simplifies deployment and enhances trust, as there is no single point of failure or hidden trapdoor during setup. They offer strong cryptographic guarantees for verifiable computation.
