Validity Proof Cost

Definition

Validity proof cost refers to the computational and economic expense associated with generating and verifying cryptographic proofs that attest to the correctness of off-chain computations or transactions. These costs include the processing power, memory, and time required by provers, as well as the gas fees incurred for submitting and verifying the proof on the Layer 1 blockchain. It is a critical factor in the economic viability of zero-knowledge rollups.
