Yield-Bearing Assets

Definition

Yield-bearing assets are financial instruments that generate periodic returns or income for their holders. In traditional finance, these include bonds, dividend stocks, or interest-bearing savings accounts. In the digital asset sector, yield-bearing assets often refer to cryptocurrencies or tokens that accrue value through staking, lending, or providing liquidity in decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols. They offer a mechanism for passive income.
