zkEVM Scaling

Definition

zkEVM scaling refers to the use of Zero-Knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine technology to enhance the transaction throughput and reduce costs of Ethereum-compatible blockchains. A zkEVM is a type of zero-knowledge rollup that can execute smart contracts compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine. It generates cryptographic proofs of off-chain computations, which are then verified on the main Ethereum chain. This technology offers significant improvements in scalability while maintaining strong security guarantees.
